Event 4 of 6: Protestants and Catholics Come together (Twofold Union)

·         The alliance between Protestants, and Catholics, was prophesied over 110 years ago. In “The Great Controversy (GC) we read:

“When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the State to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result”.(The Great Controversy (GC), by E. G. White,1888 edition, pp. 445.1.

·         “The history which the great I AM has marked out in His word, uniting link after link in the prophetic chain, from eternity in the past to eternity in the future, tells us where we are today in the procession of the ages, and what may be expected in the time to come. All that prophecy has foretold as coming to pass, until the present time, has been traced on the pages of history, and we may be assured that all which is yet to come will be fulfilled in its order. {Education (Ed) pp. 178.3}

·         ‘Tracing it in the pages of history’, we discover that this event (twofold union) took place in 17 November 2004 when Catholic Bishops voted to join the Protestants alliance (Christian Churches Together – CCT) See: http://biblelight.net/cct.htm.

·         The CCT is inclusive of the diversity of Christian families in the United States — Evangelical, Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Pentecostals, historic Protestant, Racial and Ethnic churches (CCT, 2009) available at http://www.christianchurchestogether.org/

·         With about 67 million U.S. members, the Catholic Church is the largest denomination in the CCT.

·         By 2004, when the Catholic Bishops joined the alliance, the Southern Baptist Conversion (the leading protestant church in the US) had not joined the Protestants alliance. In 2005 it joined. This made the twofold alliance to be complete.

·         A forced worship of the beast and its image is coming (Revelation 13:15).

Event 3 of 6: Movements to Join Protestant Churches (Revelation 13:15)

·         It was apostasy that led the early church to seek the aid of the civil government, and this prepared the way for the development of the papacy,--the beast (Rev 13:1 -10).

·         Said Paul, There shall "come a falling away, . . . and that man of sin be revealed." [2 THESS. 2:3] So apostasy in the church will prepare the way for the image to the beast. And the Bible declares that before the coming of the Lord there will exist a state of religious declension similar to that in the first centuries.

·         "In the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof." [2 TIM. 3:1-5] "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils." [1 TIM. 4:1.] Satan will work "with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness." And all that "received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved," will be left to accept "strong delusion, that they should believe a lie." [2 THESS. 2:9-11.] When this state of ungodliness shall be reached, the same results will follow as in the first centuries.  {GC 443.4}

·         The wide diversity of belief in the Protestant churches is regarded by many as decisive proof that no effort to secure a forced uniformity can ever be made. But there has been for years, in churches of the Protestant faith, a strong and growing sentiment in favor of a union based upon common points of doctrine. To secure such a union, the discussion of subjects upon which all were not agreed--however important they might be from a Bible standpoint--must necessarily be waived. {GC 444.1}

·         When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the State to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result.  {GC 445.1}

·         The "image to the beast" represents that form of apostate Protestantism which will be developed when the Protestant churches shall seek the aid of the civil power for the enforcement of their dogmas {GC 445.2} and (Revelation 13:15)

·         The bible and the spirit of prophecy highlights six things that must happen after America has become the world’s sole super power (1990) but before the institution of the Sunday Law (SL). This series explains the second event in the prophetic order.

Event 2 of 6: Environmental Destruction

·         Spirit of prophecy tells us that Satan will bring diseases and disasters and claim “they come from God because of the moral decay”

·         “Satan ... will bring disease and disaster, until populous cities are reduced to ruin and desolation. Even now he is at work. In accidents and calamities by sea and by land, in great conflagrations, in fierce tornadoes and terrific hailstorms, in tempests, floods, cyclones, tidal waves, and earthquakes, in every place and in a thousand forms, Satan is exercising his power. He sweeps away the ripening harvest, and famine and distress follow. He imparts to the air a deadly taint, and thousands perish by the pestilence. These visitations are to become more and more frequent and disastrous. Destruction will be upon both man and beast.” {CH 461.1}; GC 583.3

·         “While appearing to the children of men as a great physician who can heal all their maladies, he will bring disease and disaster, until populous cities are reduced to ruin and desolation. And then the great deceiver will persuade men that those who serve God are causing these evils. As men depart further and further from God, Satan is permitted to have power over the children of disobedience. He hurls destruction among men. There is calamity by land and sea. Property and life are destroyed by fire and flood. Satan resolves to charge this upon those who refuse to bow to the idol which he has set up. His agents point to Seventh-day Adventists as the cause of the trouble. "These people stand out in defiance of law," they say. "They desecrate Sunday. Were they compelled to obey the law for Sunday observance, there would be a cessation of these terrible judgments." {Mar 216.4 - 6}

·         Dear friends, haven’t we seen these things happening throughout the world? What about terrible diseases to both animals and human being? Remember, these visitations are to become more and more frequent and disastrous. Destruction will be upon both man and beast.

·         The bible and the spirit of prophecy highlights six things that must happen after America becoming a world’s sole super power (1990) but before the institution of the Sunday Law (SL). This series explains the first event in the prophetic order

Event 1 of 6: Moral Decline

·         Those advocating the Sunday law will “... put forth the claim that the fast-spreading corruption is largely attributable to the desecration of the so-called "Christian Sabbath (Saturday)," and that the enforcement of Sunday observance would greatly improve the morals of society. [GC 587.1]

·         From the above quotation we discover that, one of the reason favouring Sunday law enforcement will be to improve morals of the society. Thus, for this to happen, there must be a moral decline to substantiate this claim. As the American country will be the first to institute and enforce the Sunday law, there should be moral decline in America.

·         “Communications from the spirits will lament the great wickedness in the world, and second the testimony of religious teachers, that the degraded state of morals is caused by the desecration of Sunday. Great will be the indignation excited against all who refuse to accept their testimony”.  {GC88 591.1}

·         Tracing the moral decline ‘from the pages of history’ we discover that the moral decline in America started in 1960. This was after removing prayers from all public schools. After the removal of prayers and Ten Commandments from all classes, Americans started witnessing school shootings and gun crimes (even at schools).

 “ To understand, let’s review some important history. Consider the social upheaval of the ’60s: hippies, Vietnam protests, marijuana, promiscuous sex, Woodstock, the Beatles. Compared to what we are used to seeing today, those seem downright mild. But in the 1960s, it shocked the older generation. ·         This was after American war heroes coming back from war that (as a result of these solders) America experienced massive population growth between 1946 and 1954. All those who were born between these years are known as “baby boomers” who are the largest part of the American population today.

·         What is the moral decline situation in America today? What about in our countries?

·         “... the secular Left has introduced sexual indoctrination and condom distribution to eleven-year-old public school students.  It has made the enjoyment of tobacco the moral equivalent of child molestation.  It has dramatically increased illegitimacy in America.  It has created an entertainment ethos that brings smut and vulgarity into our living rooms”. (Lapin, D (1999),   America’s Real War, Multnomah Publishers)

Day 8: A Storm is Coming

·         In Genesis 19:12 – 14 Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law to get out of the city, But, the bible says, he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.

·         When the bible says the second beast in Revelation 13 will force all human race to worship the first beast and his image, does it click in your mind asking God to help you get ready?

·         A storm is coming. Soon the national Sunday law will be passed. We have to discern the signs of the times (Math 16:3). Soon we will be persecuted (John 15:20, also Heb 11:35 – 40, Mathew 24:9). All shall suffer persecution (2Tim 3:12)

·         We have to understand the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation and get ready. God has promised to us that He will not do anything without revealing it to His servants, the prophets – Amos 3:7,8

·         Jesus said,  “And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe” John 14:29

·         Paul insists, “... Therefore let us not sleep ...” 1Thes 5:1 – 6

·         “The history which the great I AM has marked out in His word, uniting link after link in the prophetic chain, from eternity in the past to eternity in the future, tells us where we are today in the procession of the ages, and what may be expected in the time to come. All that prophecy has foretold as coming to pass, until the present time, has been traced on the pages of history, and we may be assured that all which is yet to come will be fulfilled in its order”. {Ed 178.3} (Emphasis supplied)

·         The second beast in Revelation 13:11 (America)  – will heal the wound of the first beast in Revelation 13: 1 – 10 (Papal Authority) before the establishment of the national Sunday law. However, for her to start speaking like a dragon (to persecute God’s people) she should be a world’s sole super power. Tracing it on the pages of history, America became the world’s super power in 1990 after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

·         The bible and the spirit of prophecy highlights six things that must happen after America becoming a world’s sole super power (1990) but before the institution of the Sunday Law. We will explain all of these six things in our next series in their prophetic order. Meanwhile, just to let you know that we are on the fifth. Only one remaining.

Day 7: Children of Light

Day 7: Children of Light

·         The bible tells us about the children of Issachar, who were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do (1Chronicles 12:32).

·         Children of the light will understand the time to know what they have to do at the time.

·         Time will come when people will reject the light and follow the ideas of the man of sin – 2Thes 2:2 – 4. John tells us that evil people will always reject the light – John 3:19

·         The last act in the drama will be the Sunday Law :

“The substitution of the laws of men for the law of God, the exaltation, by merely human authority, of Sunday in place of the Bible Sabbath, is the last act in the drama. When this substitution becomes universal, God will reveal Himself. He will arise in His majesty to shake terribly the earth. He will come out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the world for their iniquity, and the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain”.--Testimonies, vol. 7, p. 141; {ChS 160.2}

·           Jesus told us, "When ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." (Mathew 24:33).

“One saying of the Saviour must not be made to destroy another. Though no man knoweth the day nor the hour of his coming, we are instructed and required to know when it is near. ... to disregard his warning, and refuse or neglect to know when his advent is near, will be as fatal for us, as it was for those who lived in the days of Noah not to know when the flood was coming” GC pp370.2

·         “God has given us His word that we may become acquainted with its teachings and know for ourselves what He requires of us. When the lawyer came to Jesus with the inquiry, "What shall I do to inherit eternal life?" the Saviour referred him to the Scriptures, saying: "What is written in the law? how readest thou?" Ignorance will not excuse young or old, nor release them from the punishment due for the transgression of God's law; ... It is not enough to have good intentions; it is not enough to do what a man thinks is right or what the minister tells him is right. His soul's salvation is at stake, and he should search the Scriptures for himself. However strong may be his convictions, however confident he may be that the minister knows what is truth, this is not his foundation. He has a chart pointing out every waymark on the heavenward journey, and he ought not to guess at anything”.  {GC 598.1} (Emphasis supplied)

·         Children of light will not be surprised – 1Thes 5:1 – 5; 2Peter 1:19,20

·         Knowing the events however, will not help us. We have to know the order of the these events, as without the order, children of light becomes children of darkness – Job 10:21,22 (“A land of darkness, as darkness [itself; and] of the shadow of death, without any order, and [where] the light [is] as darkness” Job 10:22).

Day 6 The Mark of the First Beast

Day 6: The Mark of the First Beast


 In our fifth series we saw who the two beasts of Revelation 13 are. The second beast (America) will cause people to worship the first beast (papacy) – Rev 13:12.

 Persecution to those who will not accept the mark of the first beast will follow shortly (Rev 13:15-17; Mathew 24:9,10).

 If the first beast is the papacy (Roman Catholic Church) then the mark of the beast is the mark of the Roman Catholic Church – Sunday. The Roman Catholic Church admits to have changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. They say “Sunday is our mark or authority...the church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.” — Catholic Record of London, Ontario, September 1, 1923.” Also see the attached article for other similar claims.

 Many years before it happened Prophet Daniel wrote about this beast (the fourth beast in Daniel 7, who is the first beast in Revelation 13) “and he shall ... think to change times and laws” Daniel 7:25 (Refer to series 5 for full description of the first beast).

 America (Second beast) will cause “all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand ...”(accepting the mark to earn living) ... “or in their foreheads” (wilfully acknowledge Sunday as Sabbath) – Revelation 13:16.

 “Protestants now urge that the resurrection of Christ on Sunday made it the Christian Sabbath. But Scripture evidence is lacking. No such honor was given to the day by Christ or his apostles. It has “its origin in that "mystery of lawlessness" [2 Thes 2:7, RV] which, even in Paul's day, had begun its work”. GC 54.1. The change was made in A.D 336.

 Those who, understanding the claims of the fourth commandment, choose to observe the false sabbath in the place of the true, are thereby paying homage to that power by which alone it is commanded. The mark of the beast is the papal sabbath, which has been accepted by the world in the place of the day of God's appointment. {Ev 234.1}

 “No one has yet received the mark of the beast. The testing time has not yet come. There are true Christians in every church, not excepting the Roman Catholic communion. None are condemned until they have had the light and have seen the obligation of the fourth commandment. But when the decree shall go forth enforcing the counterfeit Sabbath, and the loud cry of the third angel shall warn men against the worship of the beast and his image, the line will be clearly drawn between the false and the true. Then those who still continue in transgression will receive the mark of the beast. {Ev 234.2}

 Sunday Law (SL) is coming soon, in just few months to few years. It will start as a National Sunday Law in America, followed by Universal Sunday Law all-over the world. We shall see how soon as we continue with these series. Are you ready for the SL?

Day 5: Two Beasts of Revelation 13

Day 5: Two Beasts of Revelation 13

·         A storm is coming. Soon the national Sunday law will be passed. This will be the final event in the drama to test our loyalty to God. Those who will choose to obey God’s unchanging commandments will be persecuted (Math 24:9; Rev 13:15).

·         Revelation 13 gives us the clear picture of the persecuting powers. We have to understand the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation and get ready.

·         Remember, the bible translates itself. “... no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” (2Peter1:20)

·         Revelation 13 talks about the two beasts and how they relate to the earth’s last crisis.

·         The first beast in Revelation 13 (Also Daniel 7:23-25) is having the following characteristics.

1.      World power – Rev 13:3

2.      Civil and religious power – Rev 13: 7,8

3.      Blasphemous power – Rev 13:5 also Daniel 7:25. Blasphemy means:

§  When a man makes himself God (John 10:33).

§  A man claiming to have authority to forgive sin (Luke 5:21)

4.      Had deadly wound – Rev 13:3, (the beast was taken into captivity after 1260 years – Rev 13:10 as it used to do to others). However, the deadly wound was later healed – Rev 13:3.

5.      The beast comes out of the sea – from many people or already established kingdom – Rev 17:15.

6.      Persecute God’s people – Rev 13:7; and Daniel 7:25

7.      Rule the world for 1260 years (1260 prophetic days) – Daniel 7:25, Rev 13:5 (from 538AD to 1798AD). A one-day-year principle is used here – Ezekiel 4:6 and Numbers 14:34

·         Only one authority in the whole world fulfils this prophecy at 100% precision. This is the papacy. In fact, some people see pope as God on earth! See the attached links at the end.

·         The second Beast in Revelation 13 is a two-horned beast with the following characteristics:

1.      Arise in 1798 – that is just after the first beast – Revelation 13:11

2.      Comes out of earth – that is out of area not so heavily populated – Rev 13:11

3.      Had two horns – representing religious and political power – Rev 13:11

4.      Like a lamb – representing Christianity. The beast will be a Christian nation – Rev 13:11

5.      However, after the national Sunday law, the beast will speak like a dragon (persecuting God’s people) – Rev 13:11

6.      The beast will cause people to worship the first beast (heal the wound of the first beast) – that is restore the power to the first beast as it had before 1798 – Rev 13:12

7.      The beast’s government will be the Republican – that is power will rest with the people. Republic means the form of government in which the people or their elected representatives posses the supreme power. Thus, the beast “saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” (Rev 13:14). People should make the image because power rests with the people.

Day 4: The Final Generation

Day 4: The Final Generation

·         A storm is coming. Daniel knew that before him was a crisis. He chose a diet before facing the crisis (Daniel 1:8, 12). Let’s choose a diet before facing a storm before us.

·         A storm is coming. “Ministers should present the sure word of prophecy as the foundation...” of our faith. “The prophecy of Daniel and Revelation should be carefully studied, and in connection with them the words, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” EV 196.2

·         A storm is coming, we have to discern the signs of the times (Math 16:3). Soon we will be persecuted (John 15:20, also Heb 11:35 – 40, Mathew 24:9). All shall suffer persecution (2Tim 3:12)

·         Mathew 24: 6 – 9, 21 – 22 indicates that the final generation will have to suffer great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

·         Which specific generation does the final generation refer to? Jesus adds, “and there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring”  Luke 21:25  

·         Note that, the signs in the sun, moon, and stars appear before the distress of nations with perplexity. History tells us that the initial signs in the sun and moon appeared in 1780, and stars in 1833. These marked the beginning of the last days. Distress of nations, with perplexity however, happened in 2008. (Covered in our next series).

·         In Luke 21:31 - 36 Jesus says, “So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.  Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

·         The generation that shall not pass away till all be fulfilled is the one that will “see these things...” We are that generation. Jesus was not talking of the generation during His time as it did not “... see these things ...” Luke 21:25,26,28.

·         We are the final generation. Jesus finishes with these loving words “and take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares.  For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth” (Luke 21:34).  “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” (Luke 21:36).

·         “The twenty-fourth chapter of Mathew is presented to me again and again as something that is to be brought to attention of all. We are today living in the time when the predictions of this chapter are fulfilling. Let our ministers and teachers explain these prophecies to those whom they instruct.” EV 196.3

·         In fact, the secret rapture is so secret such that even the bible does not know about it. Only the eagles will go for the carcase (Math 24:28) but saints will be gathered (v.31).

·         In Math 24:32-35 are the lessons from the fig tree and Math 24:34,35 is an assurance that these events will surely happen. Math 25 is about preparations.

·         Contrary to the secret rapture theory, Jesus gives us a glimpse of Noah’s day in Math 24:36-41. “And knew not until the flood came” Verse 39. The ‘good’ were separated from the ‘bad’. However, Noah was not taken in secret. Thus, the good will be separated from the bad even if they work together (Math 24:40,41). Let us be watchful Math 24:42-51.
